Who we Are

Two Irish Herbalists with a love for people & plants.

We are Luke and Sarah, two Medical Herbalists and friends who share a great passion in reconnecting people back to nature and rekindling the traditions of their ancestors through plants. And thus, Fox and Hawk’s Botanicals was born!

Fox and Hawk’s Botanicals is an Irish, Organic, Grassroots company with an emphasis on using wild, local and sustainable plants as food, craft and medicine. Luke and Sarah use their combined knowledge of plants by adopting an electic approach bringing together empirical and scientific data. Their passion for the native flora of Ireland, steeped in myth, legends & folklore, has inspired them to create a range of bespoke products and events.

Luke was born and bred in an Irish household in France. He enjoyed the freedom of the countryside in a small village in the middle of the Champagne region.

He started his journey with plants by living on the Scottish isle of Arran with Herbalist Keith Robertson. After a year long study in the wilder parts of Scotland, Luke absorbed a wealth of knowledge on native plant identification, with a fascination of their uses as food, medicine and craft. Under the lens of the wealth of Culture the celtic nations share in their myths, legends and folkore.

This journey led him to embark on studying with the Excelsior Apprenticeships in Herbal Medicine and to become a Registered Medical Herbalist.

With a passion for ethnobotany and an acute curiosity for discovering the virtues of plants, Luke uses an ecclectic approach marrying both empirical and scientific data. He uses this knowledge both in his clinic and during his educational herb walks and workshops.
